Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable.
Meet in the morning on arrival at Kigali Intl Airport.
Proceed for a visit to the Rwanda Genocide Mausoleum, followed by lunch in town.
Depart Kigali in the afternoon driving along the road that climbs to the base of the majestic Volcanoes, with spectacular views of the five peaks.
Arrive at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge located very close (about 15 minutes) from the main headquarters of Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park.
Dinner and overnight.
Depart early in the morning, at the break of dawn making your way in the Volcanoes National Park to track the gorillas.
Trekking through the unique vegetation is tough and strenuous and will likely take several hours of challenged walking in the wet and muddy conditions, which is part of the gorilla tracking adventure. On finding the gorillas, you are allowed to be with them for 1 hr, which is truly an amazing experience and well worth the hardship.
Return to Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for Dinner and Overnight.
Depart again after an early breakfast for yet another exciting experience, this time tracking the “Little Primates” of the Virungas, the Golden Monkey, (Cercopithecus Kandti), now listed as endangered species because of their small numbers.
Later depart for Lake Kivu for dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena Lodge.
After the exciting and also tiring mountain gorilla and golden monkeys trekking safari, Lake Kivu will be your ideal place for rest and recuperation.
Enjoy a peaceful early morning atmosphere of the calm pristine waters of Lake Kivu, later departing to return to Kigali. Lunch in Kigali then transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
